— What You Can Expect —
Spend a beautiful day in the emerald waters of Königssee in the Berchtesgaden Alps of Bavaria. Depart from Munich and embark on a scenic drive along Germany's most picturesque Alpine road into the marvelous valley of Berchtesgaden. Upon arrival at Königssee, enjoy a boat ride on its enchanting waters.
Cruise and listen out for the mysterious echo of Königssee, created by the proximity of the sheer rock walls. Witness the historic Eagle's Nest Viewpoint, a teahouse gifted to Hitler on his 50th birthday, and spot the so-called Sleeping Witch silhouettes in the mountains. In case the cruise is unavailable, consider taking the cable car to reach Jennerbahn for a panoramic view of the lake.
Return to dry land and visit the chapel of St. Bartholomä, located at the foot of Germany’s second-highest mountain, the 8,900-foot (2,700-meter) high Watzmann.
Head to Ramsau, Germany’s first mountaineering village. Take a stroll along the trails in the Enchanted Forest and admire the breathtaking nature and scenic landscapes.
