Itinerary

Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer

Considered one of the most important elements of Hitler's Atlantic Wall in Normandy, WN 48 is the only German battery to have retained three of its four original 150-mm guns in situ! This is a great hands on experience involving naval guns and WWII bunkers. Your guide will take the time to describe the construction process, the role of the German fortifications as well as the place of WN 48 in the history of the D-Day landings.

One of two artificial harbours assembled at Normandy after D-Day, ‘Mulberry B’ represented a masterpiece of engineering. Approximately 22% of the supplies required by the Anglo-Canadian forces in the course of the campaign came through this port alone. Learn the story behind its construction and marvel at the remnants of the port that are still visible on the seafront of Arromanches.

Graye-sur-Mer

Mike Sector was the westernmost section of Juno Beach. Assaulted by the Royal Winnipegs on D-Day, this part of the beach was to witness, during the initial wave, a casualty rate similar to that of Omaha Beach. One of "Hobart's funnies" that participated in the assault, a Churchill AVRE tank, is still guarding the beach exit created in the early hours of D-Day.
