Etna: Cable Car & Hiking Tour to Summit
Hike the Etna Volcano to get to the summit craters of Mount Etna at about 3000 meters!
You will be hiking in full safety with a certified alpine and volcano guide, with whom you will marvel at the beauty and wonder of the highest active volcano in Europe, at 3.000 meters above the sea level.
Departing from Sapienza Refuge, in Nicolosi, the Cable Car will take you up to 2.504 meters and you will proceed with an amazing trekking.
The amount of Hiking involved is more or less 5 hours.
The tour can be cancelled in case of adverse weather conditions. The itinerary up to 3000 m can be slightly modified depending on the volcanic activities, for security reasons.

(Subject to Option Inclusions)You will get up to the highest point allowed of the Mount Etna with a certified alpine guide. In full safety, you will marvel at the beauty of the highest active volcano in Europe at 3.000 meters above the sea level. Departing from Sapienza Refuge, in Nicolosi, the cable car will take you up to 2.504m asl. From this point you will hike to reach the maximum altitude allowed. You’ll hike 1.5 hours uphill, passing many craters, in particular toward the crater of the 2001 eruption. During the hike you will take long pauses to take pictures and rest. Then you will reach the Barbagallo craters, up to 3,000 meters and enjoy a privileged view on the summit craters. Then you will march back to 2500 mt and take the cable car back to the Rifugio Sapienza. Experience the incredible feeling of being on top of the world in this rocky, beautiful landscape with the giant sky above you. Carried out a long pause near the craters, you will descend in direction of 2002 craters and before heading up again in cable car to the departure point in Refuge Sapienza. This tour is absolutely prohibited to people who have heart problems and asthmatics.

Pickup and Dropoff
You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
Please arrive at the pick up point 75 minutes before departure time.
Meeting / End Points
- The meeting point is at "Bar Monte Gebel". On the right side of "Rifugio Sapienza", Nicolosi, Etna Sud (Catania). Departure at 9 am.

Once you will meet your guide at Rifugio Sapienza, he will give you return tickets for the Cable Car. You won't need any other tickets.
