We will pass by the Mdina Gate, the majestic main entrance to the ancient city of Mdina. The statue of St. Paul stands beside the parish church dedicated to the same saint, set within a picturesque piazza at the heart of Rabat. This charming square, rich in history and character, serves as a focal point of the town. Additionally, we have the opportunity to visit a small yet fascinating catacomb, offering a glimpse into Malta’s early Christian heritage.

Serving as a burial ground from Punic, Roman and Byzantine times the St Paul’s Catacombs represent the earliest and largest archaeological evidence of Christianity in Malta. It’s association to the saint derives from the myth that this cluster of catacombs was once connected with St Paul’s Grotto.
