Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater, located in the Ciqikou Ancient Town Scenic Area in Shapingba District, Chongqing, is a large-scale real-life theater in Chongqing tailored for the play "Chongqing 1949". It is also the world's first single indoor theater. The total construction area of Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater is 25,000 square meters, the building height is 28.6 meters, and it can accommodate 1,497 spectators.
"Chongqing 1949" is set on the eve of the liberation of Chongqing in 1949. It tells the story of "many Communist Party members imprisoned in Zhazidong and Baigongguan, who withstood all kinds of torture, were indomitable, and would rather die than surrender," and reproduced the grand scene of liberating Chongqing and defending the city. The story was written on the day of Chongqing's liberation. A group of revolutionary heroes fell on the road to break through the darkness and rush to dawn in order to uphold their great ideals and lofty beliefs, accompanied by the gunshots of the liberation of Chongqing. "Sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people", thus "condensed into the 'Red Rock Spirit'".
