Learn about the rich history of Vancouver on my Vancouver tours as the area has been inhabited for 10,000 years by the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. On our walking tours, you will hear stories about what life was like for the early residents in the 19th century when the city began as a hub for logging and gold miners.
Unlike other tours, your guide will provide visual context for all our stops with digital photos on an iPad. With a background in history and archaeology, your tour will cover many topic not discussed in other tours and you will leave with an in-depth understanding of Vancouver.
A bit about me: I have been raised in Vancouver and have a degree in indigenous archaeology. I have been working in tourism and education for 10+ years and love giving tours!

We will start the tour at Vancouver's Art Gallery downtown which is the most central location in Vancouver's downtown core. We will spend the first 30 minutes of the tour walking from the Art Gallery towards Gastown, on the way seeing the oldest cathedral in Vancouver and hearing stories about the first European residents of the city.
As we leave Gastown, we will walk to the Chinatown neighbourhood and learn about the community's history and about some of their most famous residents.
The tour will end at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden which is a hidden gem in Vancouver. Here we will spend the last 15 minutes enjoying the scenery and peacefulness this park provides in the middle of the city.
