This iconic city landmark should be the first stop on any visitor’s itinerary, boasting some of the most spectacular architecture in Southeast Asia. The palace's construction began in 1782, and it comprises several buildings with highly decorated architectural designs. The Emerald Buddha, housed in Bangkok's Grand Palace within Wat Phra Kaew, is Thailand's most revered religious icon. Carved from a single piece of jade, this sacred statue stands about 66 cm tall and is draped in seasonal gold garments, changed by the King of Thailand.
