The High Dam in Aswan is an engineering marvel that has stood the test of time. Built in the 1960s, it serves as a vital source of hydroelectric power for the region, helping to support agriculture and industry. Its massive structure spans the Nile River, providing a striking backdrop for visitors to the area. Discover the history and significance of the High Dam on a guided tour and marvel at the ingenuity of its design.

The Philae temple complex (/ˈfaɪliː/; Ancient Greek: Φιλαί or Φιλή and Πιλάχ, Arabic: فيلة Egyptian Arabic: [fiːlæ], Egyptian: p3-jw-rķ' or 'pA-jw-rq; Coptic: ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲕ, ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲕϩ,[1][2] Coptic pronunciation: [ˈpilɑk, ˈpilɑkh]) is an island-based temple complex in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser, Egypt.

The unfinished obelisk is the largest known ancient obelisk [citation needed] and is located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan, Egypt. It was studied in detail by Reginald Engelbach in 1922.[1] The unfinished obelisk in its quarry at Aswan, 1990 The obelisk and wider quarry were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979 along with other examples of Upper Egyptian architecture, as part of the "Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae" (despite the quarry site being neither Nubian, nor between Abu Simbel and Philae).[2]
