Anthony Quinn Bay, one of the most picturesque bays of Rhodes, was named after the famous actor Anthony Quinn, as a tribute to his connection with the island. The history of the bay is directly linked to the film 'The Guns of Navarone', which was shot in Rhodes in the 1960s. Anthony Quinn's relationship with Rhodes Anthony Quinn visited Rhodes in 1960 for the filming of the legendary movie, in which he played one of the main roles. During his stay, the actor was enchanted by the natural beauty of the island and especially by this particular bay, with its deep blue waters and rocky character. The beauty of the area inspired the actor to gain a personal connection with the place. There are reports that Anthony Quinn was interested in buying land in the area and creating a cultural center. Anthony Quinn Bay is not only a place of natural beauty, but also a place where art, history and culture come together.
