We will start our visit in front of Ghent’s Cathedral door. Later, we will take a tour of the towers of the city, the magnificent town hall, and the Church of St. Nicholas, and we will be able to appreciate the architectural feast that prevails in the city.
We will cross the portentous St. Michael’s Bridge to the old docks, and discover the strength of the medieval guilds and their wealth. If we work up an appetite, we will have the opportunity to visit the local food stalls in the old meat market, and then enthusiastically head to the ancient Castle of the Counts of Flanders, certainly a trip to the Middle Ages.
