We are located in the heart of Kyoto, just a 12-minute walk from Kyoto Station and a 2-minute walk from Nishi Honganji Temple. Our facility is a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese house that dates back 130 years. We have transformed it into a classroom where we provide an authentic Japanese cultural experience for overseas visitors to Japan, aiming to offer a genuine taste of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.

Inside the historic house, you will find a majority of antique furniture and artifacts that are over 110 years old. With this setting, along with traditional Japanese music, we strive to create an immersive cultural experience that takes you back to Kyoto as it was 130 years ago.

Our teachers are all local to Kyoto and possess a deep understanding of Japanese culture. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge and providing you with an enriching experience.

(Subject to Option Inclusions)

We provide a genuine sushi making experience in a splendid mansion whose history goes back to the end of the nineteenth century. Welcomed by a space decorated with antique paintings and furnished with classic commodities, you may learn from our local instructor the art of sushi making. What better place than the ancient capital and the city of thousand temples to experience the culture of old Japan? How about trying your hands at making a few different types of sushi while a pot of tea and some miso soups are prepared for you to enjoy in our cozy machiya? It would be our pleasure to pass down to you our culinary craft, to take you on a food escapade! Other things to note. Our staff will be glad to guide you through the mansion. Due to time constraints and safety, our Chef will prepare the rice and cut the fish beforehand. The sushi making experience involves learning the techniques of shaping six nigiri, three temari, one gunkan, and one inari sushi. The sushi making experience lasts around an hour. You may then take all the time you would like to eat your creations in our machiya.
