This 1-Day Yoga Retreat Bali takes you to the beautiful landscapes northeast of Ubud in the Central Balinese town of Tampak Siring. It promises an escape from the crowds in a tranquil environment conducive to ‘Bali meditation’.
After an early pickup, we will head to Mengening Holy Water Temple or Pura Mengening located in the village of Saraseda, Gianyar Regency. The temple is sacred as a place of melukat, a ritual in which locals perform self-cleaning or ablution with holy water. It’s also a site where the Balinese request tirtha – the holy water used for Hindu ceremonies.
Take in the calming natural scenery and do as the locals at the purifying pools, separated into two – one for women's baths and a separate area for men. These springs have been derived from natural sources since the 11th century, but fret not, the pools’ bathing waters are cool and clear. Before going in, you will be guided in the ritual of presenting the canang sari flower offering with incense. The bathing rite is said to be both a physically and spiritually rejuvenating yet meditative experience.
You will have time to freely explore Tepi Sawah Villa and enjoy the pool area, with a delicious local lunch in between. Afterwards, we’ve lined up a Bali healing yoga and meditation practice with Jero Priestess Luh Manis, who will guide you through the spiritual experience reconnecting you back with nature, the universal energy, and yourself.
