Our guide will show you the Church of Saint Sergius and Saint Bacchus, which has an underground crypt where the Holy Family is believed to have stayed during their escape to Egypt. The mosque is an impressive architectural masterpiece built in the early 19th century by the self-proclaimed viceroy of Egypt, Mohammed Ali It was strongly influenced by the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. The interior features a beautiful mix of Ottoman and Mamluk styles, with stunning domed ceilings, intricate geometric patterns, marble floors and incredible minarets.
