Located off the coast of Mismaloya, south of Puerto Vallarta, Los Arcos Marine Park is one of the region’s most iconic natural landmarks. Named after its granite rock formations shaped like arches and tunnels, it’s home to rich marine life. By day, it’s a top snorkeling site with coral reefs and volcanic formations. But at night, this magical place reveals something rare: bioluminescence. This phenomenon happens when microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates emit a glowing blue light as the water moves. On dark, calm nights, the glow becomes visible around the boat—and even more magical when swimming, lighting up with every motion. Los Arcos is one of the few places nearby where you can safely experience this in a protected marine zone. It’s a rare opportunity to connect with nature through a glowing sea.
Mismaloya
Mismaloya is a scenic beach located just south of Puerto Vallarta, nestled between the mountains and the ocean. - We meet in the sand on the beach between the Barcelo Hotel and the river. The street next to the Barcelo Hotel dead ends at the beach.

Please arrive at the corner of Calle Constitución and Basilio Badillo, in front of the OXXO and the Mismaloya bus stop. Look for the guide wearing a pirate-style shirt with a “Jack Sparrow PV” logo. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
