Itinerary

Temple of Karnak

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada and take you on a scenic journey to Cairo, which takes approximately six hours. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by our knowledgeable local guide, who will lead you on a fascinating exploration of this historic city. Our tour begins with a visit to the Karnak Temple, an extraordinary site with origins dating back to around 2055 BC and extending through to 100 AD. This magnificent temple complex, dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, served as a center of worship for centuries. Renowned as the largest religious structure ever constructed, the Karnak Temple was referred to by the ancient Egyptians as "the most select of places," a testament to its spiritual and cultural significance. Prepare to be awed by the sheer scale, intricate carvings, and timeless beauty of this ancient wonder as you uncover its rich history and significance.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari

The second temple you'll visit is the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a stunning masterpiece of ancient funerary architecture that rivals the grandeur of the Pyramids. Nestled against a towering cliff face that shelters the Valley of the Kings on its opposite side, this awe-inspiring structure rises in three colossal terraces connected by broad ramps. Each terrace is adorned with a colonnade of stark, square pillars that exude a sense of timeless strength. This temple was commissioned by Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt's few female pharaohs, who fittingly described her monument as the "Splendor of Splendors." However, parts of the construction trace back to earlier rulers, beginning with Mentuhotep II in 2050 BC. Once richly adorned with numerous sphinxes and statues, many of these have since disappeared, lending the temple an even more monolithic and imposing appearance.

Valley of the Kings

The crown jewel of any visit to Luxor is the legendary Valley of the Kings, a royal necropolis that served as the final resting place for the mighty pharaohs of Egypt’s New Kingdom (18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties). This sacred valley holds the tombs of renowned rulers such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Tuthmosis III, and Seti I, alongside those of influential nobles, queens, and royal children. Carved into the arid cliffs of the Theban hills, the valley is a masterpiece of ancient funerary art and architecture. The tombs are intricately decorated with vibrant wall paintings and hieroglyphics, depicting the pharaohs' journey to the afterlife and their divine connection to the gods. Exploring the Valley of the Kings is an awe-inspiring experience, making it the pinnacle of any visit to Luxor. It is a place where history, mystery, and breathtaking craftsmanship converge, leaving visitors in wonder of Egypt's enduring legacy.
