Queen's Staircase
The Queen's Staircase, commonly referred to as the 66 steps, is a major landmark that is located in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex in Nassau. The Queen's Staircase is a walkway of 66 steps in Nassau, the capital city of The Bahamas. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794 to create an escape route from the fort above and is a major landmark of Nassau.
Fort Fincastle
Fort Fincastle is a fort located in the city of Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. It was built to provide protection to Nassau. The fort, which is shaped like a paddle steamer, was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore to protect Nassau from pirates
Water TowerPass-by Only
The Water Tower. Constructed in 1928 as a means to maintain water pressure on the island of New Providence, The Water Tower lies behind Fort Fincastle and stands at an imposing 126 feet tall. In the past, visitors could climb the spiral staircase up to the top of the tower, but these days the inside of the structure is now closed to The Public.
