This tour is unique because it offers a rare opportunity to cross the continental divide between the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Visitors can witness the geological phenomenon and natural beauty of boiling mud pools at Gunnuhver and experience the power of the ocean while hiking along magnificent cliffs. The tour also includes a visit to the town of Grindavík for some local cuisine, followed by a drive along the scenic south coast of Iceland. The geothermal area of Seltún or Krýsuvík offers a unique and scenic experience, and the tour ends with a drive past the beautiful lake Kleifarvatn. The combination of geological wonders, natural beauty, and local culture makes this tour a favourite among guides and travellers alike.

Bridge between Europe and North America on Reykjanes Peninsula.
Two volcanic fissures lie from the sea onto land on the western side of Reykjanes and form a series of craters. These crater series have been named Stampar.
Valahnúkur is composed of tuff layers, pillow lava and breccia. The mountain was formed in a single eruption and shows evidence of the different phases of the eruption. The tuff forms in explosive eruption, while the pillow lava forms when the lava erupts under water.
