Kappabashi Street, also known as Kappabashi-dori or Kitchen Town, is a street located between Ueno and Asakusa in Tokyo. It is almost entirely populated by shops supplying the restaurant industry. Here you will find shops specializing in kitchenware, pots, pans, tables, chairs, signs, lanterns, and much more. Some shops even sell plastic and wax food samples, which many restaurants use for their window displays.
The vast Ueno Park was once owned by the monks of Kaneiji Temple. Today, it offers green spaces, ponds, museums, a market and paths lined with cherry blossoms.
