A spectacular prehistoric site on a 4 Hours private tour to Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum, Tarxien Temples, Hagar Qim Temples, Mnajdra Temples, and the old capital Mdina. On the island of Malta, the temples of Hagar Qim, Mnajdra, and Tarxien are unique architectural masterpieces, given the limited resources available to their builders. The complex show how the tradition of temple-building was handed down in Malta. The temple builders used locally available stone of which they had a thorough knowledge. They used hard coralline limestone for external walls and softer globigerina limestone for the more sheltered interiors and decorated elements. Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill in the center of Malta. The town was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants, and beautiful views over the Island it is truly a magical town. Mdina is referred to as the “Silent City” by Maltese and visitors alike.

Malta’s oldest prehistoric site of Għar Dalam engages visitors to step back in time. Rows of ancient animal bones, unearthed from Għar Dalam cave, are exhibited in the Joseph Baldacchino’s Hall, which still retains one of a handful of Victorian style displays in Europe.
The lower part of a colossal statue of a figure wearing a pleated skirt stands sentinel to the dawn of civilisation in the highly decorated South Temple within the Tarxien Neolithic Complex site. Discovered in 1913 by farmer Lorenzo Despott, the site consists of a complex of four megalithic structures built in the late Neolithic and then readapted for use during the Early Bronze Age.
Ħaġar Qim, over 5000 years old, is found at the top of a promontory with a fertile plain to its east and garrigue sloping down to the sea to the west. 500m downhill from Ħaġar Qim one finds Mnajdra, a contemporary building, probably used by the same community given its proximity.
