A Dive into the Middle Ages The Castelvecchio Bridge, built in 1355 by the Lords of La Scala, is a medieval masterpiece that combines engineering, strategy and art. At 120 metres long and with a central arch of 48.7 metres, it was a technical feat at the time. Designed to connect the castle to the opposite bank of the Adige, it guaranteed a safe escape in case of attack. Destroyed in 1945, it was faithfully rebuilt between 1949 and 1951 using the original stones recovered from the river. Walking on the bridge means immersing yourself in history: admire the crenellated walls, terracotta bricks and towers that tell of knights and military strategies. The view of the Adige river and the city is breathtaking, with the castle looking like it comes out of a fairy tale. An unmissable experience for those seeking beauty and historical charm. Visit it and discover one of the most iconic wonders of Verona, symbol of the greatness of the Middle Ages.
