This tour does not only cover the parts of Split within the Diocletian's Palace but it also includes other significant town parts in the outmost vicinity of the Palace that are essential to understanding the complexities of the historical background of Split. Riva Harbor
As we meet up at the promenade you will see the southern wall of the Diocletian's palace, the Split harbour as well as the eastern and the western promenade/coast. I will provide you with some interesting information about the location of Split and it's surroundings and what makes the city of Split such a popular and unique destination.
Diocletian Palace Substructures
We will enter the substructures of the Palace through the southern entrance of the Palace (the Bronze Gate), I will explain the specific role the substructures have had through history as we pass through the main corridor towards the Peristyle Square.
The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace
We will stop at the central ancient square of the Palace, the famous Peristyle Square where I will lay out the historical and cultural background of this unique historical site.
