Dehesa El Águila is a private estate located in the Municipality of Puebla de la Reina, it belongs to the Tierra de Barros Region, almost in the geographical center of the Province of Badajoz. Its origin is in the foundations of livestock and agriculture, which have always been combined in the shadow of the holm oaks and cork oaks, fully envisioning what we define today as BIODIVERSITY. Our hides are strategically located to enjoy mesmerizing views of the northern part of the Sierra Grande de Hornachos. A large part of the farm belongs to the Special Protected Bird Zone Z.E.P.A. where the following birds can be seen soaring through the skies: Golden Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle, Eagle Owl, Griffon and Black Vultures, Black Stork, Iberian Yellowtail, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Goshawk, Common Kestrel, Booted Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Bee-eater , European owl, Eurasian kite, Montagu's harrier,...
We currently have two hides: "Hide rapaces" and "Hide El Cañito". "Hide Raptors" is located in an old midden used by black vultures, griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, corvids, kites... Being located between Sierra Hornachos (5 km) and Sierra de Alange (8 km) it is a hunting ground for large eagles. (golden, imperial eagle...) that, with a little luck, can all be seen.
