It is the passion of the history of the Cathar knights and castles that will take you totally into this very strong history of the Algerian crusade. The national speaker guide, who has been speaking for 20 years and is native of the territory, will transport you very quickly into the events and will allow you to really know the strong and exceptional personality of the lords who fought with few means and much courage against a very large army. You will learn in clear terms who the cathars were. You will want to visit the other sites of the Aude that are just as exciting: Cathar castles, abbeys, privateer villages... which will be discussed during the visit.
We start our visit by discovering the ramparts and the main panoramic viewpoints, then we enter the City to discover the exterior part of the Château Comtal, the streets of the City, the Basilica of Saint Nazaire and the Hotel de la Cité. The walking tour allows you to discover in detail the city of Carcassonne and its medieval history. We evoke the most important period of the 12th and 13th centuries: the time of the Cathars and knights such as Trencavel (lord of Carcassonne) and Xabert de Barbaira who fought with Courage and self-sacrifice to defend the populations during the crusade led by Pope Innocent Three and Simon de Montfort.
After visiting the city, we enter the castle to visit the museum, then we go up to the top of the ramparts to make the panoramic and photographic tour of the city and the castle
