Step into the pages of history with a private guided tour of one of the most iconic landmarks in the world—the Acropolis of Athens.
Your journey begins at the foot of the Acropolis, where your guide will set the historical and cultural context of 5th-century BCE Athens—often called the Golden Age of Pericles. Entering through the monumental Propylaea, you’ll walk the same marble paths once trodden by Socrates, Pericles, and countless others who shaped Western thought. The tour covers the Temple of Athena Nike, symbol of victory and strategic power; the Erechtheion, with its famed Caryatid statues; and, of course, the architectural marvel that is the Parthenon—the temple dedicated to Athena, the city’s patron goddess.
Throughout the tour, your expert guide will share the stories behind the stones: the politics, the philosophy, the mythology, and the people that made Athens the intellectual beacon of the ancient world.
Tickets Included: The Acropolis Hill tickets will be provided to you by the tour guide.
The Odeon of Herodes the Atticus was constructed during the late 2nd cent. A.D. in honor of Herodes' late wife. Today it still functions as a theatre.
The Propylaea is the majestic entrance to the top of the Acropolis Hill. It was designed by Mnesicles to feel like a giant hug, with rooms both on the left and the right side of the gates. This is the welcoming area for all visitors for more than 2500 years now! From here you will also have a view to the temple of Athena Nike, a temple dedicated to both the patron goddess of the city, Athena, and the victorious goddess, Nike.
The Erechtheum was the third out of the three temples on top of the hill to be constructed. In an attempt to differentiate it from the Parthenon, its architect designed the Porch of the Caryatides, which you will be able to see in the distance.
