Doi Inthanon National Park is the most famous in northern Thailand because of its undeniable beauty and its location (conveniently located just 85 km from Chiang Mai)! The natural life of the Park is especially rich in birds, of which there are about 400 species. The wide range of altitude allows many different types of vegetation to live within the Park, from pine forests in the highest areas to dipterocarps in the lower ones
Ban Mae Klang Luang is a Karen village inhabited by S’gaw people, an ethnic group. This village is a peaceful one with relaxing natural environments around. It’s located at somewhere around the 26th kilometre on the way up to Doi Inthanon. This village was once a land for opium planting, but later, due to the kindness of King Bhumibol, the villagers switched to creative agriculture instead. Therefore Ban Mae Klang Luang is a stunning place with flawless nature now, being loved by many tourists. Ban Mae Klang Luang is a good place to visit if you want to learn about Thai agriculture. By visiting the place, you will see farms used for planting various things, including Ban Mae Klang Luang Stair Farm, which is in fact a river basin area on Doi Inthanon and used for rice growing.
The Royal Twin Pagoda of the brilliant Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon is a great historical site in the city of Chain Mai. The pagodas were established to commemorate the 60th birthday of the great King and Queen near the top of the Doi Inthanon national park. The top of the pagodas goes up into the clouds and there are spiraling staircases and a provision of escalator for people with walking disabilities. Inside the pagodas is a beautiful statue of Buddha with stunning artworks.
