Along the way, enjoy pockets of stunning secondary forest. After 40 minutes, enter the renowned Pacuare River Gorge, a 5-mile (8-kilometer) stretch of Costa Rica's finest whitewater. Tackle exciting rapids like Terciopelo Snake, Double Drop, Upper and Lower Huacas, and Pin Ball, and marvel at the breathtaking Huacas Waterfall, a 150-foot (45-meter) drop into the river. Beyond the gorge, the river broadens into the Valle del Pacuare, offering a calmer 5-mile (8-kilometer) stretch perfect for wildlife spotting and relaxing. Rapids like "Cimarrones," "The Play Hole," "El Indio," and "Magnetic Rock" keep the adventure alive amid lush scenery.
