This tour combines two traditional Krakow tours - the Old Town with Wawel Hill and the Jewish Quarter of Kazimierz. Suitable for those tourists who came to Krakow for a couple of days and would like to see the main attractions at once. The tour is conducted in Russian.
The guide will meet you near the Barbican fortification of the city walls of medieval Krakow. You will learn what the main entrance gate to Krakow looked like from the north in the Middle Ages. And also what used to be on the main square of Klepaž, which now bears the name of J. Matejko.
You will see the beautiful building of the Czartoryski Museum, which houses Leonardo Da Vinci's painting "Lady with an Ermine". You will learn the history of the creation of this collection and the path it had to overcome to end up in Krakow. Nearby there is a very interesting market with an exhibition of paintings by contemporary artists. Let's take a look at the cafe "Michalika Pit", so beloved by 19th century artists who lived in Krakow, and the house where J. Matejko lived, which is now a museum.
On the main square of Krakow is the majestic St. Mary's Church. You will learn about the most valuable relic of this cathedral - the altar partition, which was created over 12 years by the Nuremberg sculptor Wit Stwosch. Hear the melody of "hejnal" (time signal) played by the church trumpeter on one of its towers. Learn the legends associated with this tradition. You will see all the main attractions located here on the square - the Cloth Hall, the monument to Adam Mickiewicz, the Church of St. Wojciech, the Town Hall Tower and a modern sculpture of the most beautiful Greek god Eros.
