Set in the World Heritage site of Nijo Castle, creative company NAKED reinterprets Japan's "Nouryo" culture and the atmosphere of summer spent by the shogun and nobles through modern art. In front of Karamon Gate and the carriage entrance of Ninomaru Palace, the "Kawato no NIWA" area for enjoying the cool evening air will be making its debut. The area will include a riverside seating area, an indispensable part of Kyoto's summer scenery, nostalgic interactive art with motifs of night primrose and bamboo boats, and food stalls where you can enjoy shaved ice and sake. In addition, the area will offer an art experience of "coolness" that spreads across the historical space, including fantastic lighting that highlights the Ninomaru Garden and Palace, and lighting that evokes the twinkling of fireflies.
