This original half day tour is dedicated to the Hue’s traditional foody history, experiencing some of its famous dishes from market to mouth! Beginning near the old town we’ll visit Dong Ba market and introduce you to the vibrant colors and smells of the fresh produce from surrounding countryside. We’ll then take an amazing tour around the canals surrounding the Citadel giving you a new perspective on this majestic structure. You get to participate in a workshop with locals in Lua Bao village, famous for production of banh uot, the main ingredient in some of Hue’s most recognized dishes. We’ll take you to nearby Truc Lam Pagoda on route to lunch, where you can enjoy banh uot dishes prepared by experts.
Dong Ba is the biggest commercial center of Thua Thien Hue Province and the adjacent regions.
Citadel Canals: Hue Citadel is an original combination embracing traditional Vietnamese architectural principles, Oriental philosophy, the Chinese principles of Yin and Yang and of the five basic elements of the earth, together with an influence drawn from Vauban-styled architecture of military in the Occident.
