I’ve been riding these trails for many years and have discovered the best routes to showcase what this incredible area has to offer. With extensive experience guiding multi-day trails in Argentina, I’ve honed my skills and knowledge to ensure a safe and memorable experience for riders of all levels. This adventure combines some of my greatest passions: horses, nature, mountains, and delicious food and wine! The beauty of this place is something I want to share, and you’ll be amazed at how, even though you’re right in the heart of a city, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world. Orangekloof Nature reserve has been reserved for horse riders and can only be entered into with a key, which I have access to. Therefore, it is seldom we will see anyone else on the mountain. It will be you, your horse and the birds enjoying all this beautiful area has to offer.
Join me for an unforgettable horseback ride through the pristine Oranjekloof Nature Reserve, a hidden gem accessible only with a private key—one that I am fortunate to have. This exclusive access ensures we’ll explore a beautifully untouched area of the national park, far from the usual crowds. Our 1.5-hour ride will take us deep into the valley, where you’ll feel worlds away from the bustling city. Along the way, there are opportunities for long canters (based on your riding ability) and breathtaking 180-degree views of Hout Bay. With years of experience guiding horseback trails, I prioritize your safety and enjoyment throughout the journey. Towards the end of the ride, we will stop for either a picnic with local food or a wine tasting of South African wines. After the break, we’ll return to our starting point, completing a memorable loop. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or an intermediate, this experience promises adventure, tranquility, and a taste of South Africa’s natural beauty. Weekdays: sunset ride from 5:30 - 7:30 Weekends: available at all times
