Red History Museum

Next, your tour takes you to Mount Srđ, where the Homeland War Museum is located inside the Fort Imperial. This historic site offers an intimate look at Dubrovnik’s experience during the Croatian War of Independence, focusing particularly on the Siege of Dubrovnik in 1991-1992. The museum provides a poignant and personal view of the war, with a focus on both the civilian and military struggles. The Fort Imperial on Srđ hill offers breathtaking panoramic views of Dubrovnik, making it a reflective experience as you look down at the city that faced relentless bombardment during the war.

Your tour will continue to the coastal area of Kupari, home to a series of wrecked hotels that have been abandoned since the war. These once-popular tourist resorts were heavily damaged during the war, leaving behind haunting ruins that stand as a reminder of the devastation that swept through the region. As you walk through the ruins, your guide will share the history of how these hotels were destroyed and how the area became a strategic location during the war.
