This is a Rhino intensive tour and will be one to remember! Our local guides have lived and worked in the area for many years and have developed an in-depth knowledge of the habits and hangouts of these magnificent animals.

Whilst the main focus of this tour will be to find and photograph Rhino in the Matobo Hills during you will be able to enjoy a little of all the best things that the Matobo Hills has to offer! Sweeping views of unique landscapes, possibly some ancient rock art and for the more adventurous explorers, there is the opportunity to indulge in some light rock climbing and bouldering where you will be rewarded with some magnificent views of the awe-inspiring countryside with its iconic balancing rocks.

Our guides are all passionate photographers so there is help available to aid in capturing that special moment for the family postcard or for your social media. They will help you safely get up close to one of Africas most famous animals, a bucket list experience!

Itinerary

Matobo National Park - The Matopos

Tours leave Bulawayo at 8.30am bound for the iconic Matobo Hills. The area is a UNESCO world heritage site and is famous for its magnificent views of unique and unusual landscapes: balancing rock formations, giant granite whalebacks, secluded valleys, secret caves, light scrub bush and areas of open grassland. The Matobo Hills offer outstanding opportunities for wildlife experiences in the form of walking safaris conducted by your professional guides. Guests embark on a mini walking safari where they will be able to track and photograph rhino like you’ve never seen them before, up close and personal. In the pursuit of these awesome animals you may see a few other species of wildlife too. The recommended minimum age for this activity is 6 years old. This will be an excellent opportunity for budding photographers to get some stunning wildlife photos. Rhino are the focus!

Please arrive at the pick up point 45 minutes before departure time.

Additional Information

Guests who are within the Bulawayo City limits may request pickup from their hotel, hostel or lodgings. They may be required to be ready earlier than the scheduled start of the tour.
