Itinerary

Windsor Castle

Home of British Monarchs for almost a millennia, this is the brightest jewel of the Royal Collection Trust and final resting place of many kings and queens most recently that of Queen Elizabeth II. There is a large collection of fine art such as Hans Holbein, Van Dyck and Rubens, and the famous doll’s house belonging to Queen Mary. This tour takes 6 hours including travel. Home of Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The Tuscan style villa was the home of the Saxe-Coburg royal family for decades. The estate stretches to the sea where Queen Victoria’s bath carriage is located and in the summer Punch and Judy shows are still staged. The ornate gardens and Swiss Cottage are other attractions of the house. This tour includes ferry passage both ways between Southampton & the Isle of Wight by Red Funnel Ferries and also includes a visit to Shanklin Old Village. The whole tour including travel takes 8-10 hours.

Corfe Castle

One of the most popular National Trust sites in sunny Dorset. The story of the medieval castle and its occupants is fascinating and brought to life by the many audio recordings located across the site. Reasonable physical health is needed to get around the ruins. Outside the castle is the beautiful village of Corfe, built almost entirely of grey Purbeck limestone, and is the perfect place to visit for all those who enjoy nature, history and long walks. This tour goes via Poole using the Sandbanks chain ferry and takes approximately 6-8 hours including travel.
