Our first stop on this day excursion will be Lednice, which is around 50 minutes away from Brno. Lednice, with its Thudor-gothic fantasy castle, was Liechtenstein's family's former summer residence. Before approaching the castle grounds, we shall stop by a massive greenhouse adjacent to it. After visiting the castle, we will go for a walk in the castle park, which is dominated by the Minaret viewing tower.
Valtice, our next destination, is only a 10-minute drive from Lednice. We will visit this exquisite Baroque castle, which has served as the official residence of the Liechtenstein family for generations. We will visit the castle cellars, which now display the greatest Czech wines, winners of the top national wine competition.
On our journey back to Brno, we'll stop in Mikulov, a quaint Moravian small town with stunning views of the surrounding Palava Hills and vineyards. Mikulov Castle is the town's prominent feature. We will take a wonderful walk around the castle and hear about another prominent family in Moravian history, the Dietrichsteins. Our way back to Brno takes about 1hr.
