After picking you up from your Cairo hotel between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM, we will enter the historic center of the largest metropolis in Africa. The first stop will be the Saladin Citadel, a huge medieval fortress that has become Cairo's best-known non-pharaonic monument. Inside the fortress we will enter the Mohamed Ali Mosque, known as the Alabaster Mosque for the material that covers it. Its ornate decoration is spectacular.
Leaving the fortress behind we will head to the Jan el-Jalili Market (Khan El-Khalili), the most famous market in Cairo. Walking through its labyrinthine streets is like visiting an authentic open-air museum. A perfect place to buy souvenirs and reproductions of objects from Ancient Egypt. After the market we will stop to eat. The menu includes various salads and a main course accompanied by rice and vegetables. For dessert, a refreshing fruit salad.
In the afternoon we will dedicate three hours to discover the Egyptian Museum. Here you will find the masterpieces of the Pharaonic era, its greatest exponent being the treasure of Tutankhamun.
