Explore the internationally renowned bird reserve within Lake Skadar, an idyllic destination that captivates ornithologists and twitchers worldwide. The journey promises to be a breathtaking experience, offering a glimpse into the flourishing avian life!
How we do it:
We will meet in Virpazar early in the morning. This is the perfect time for observing the birds because the lake is peaceful, and nature is just waking up. Board the traditional wooden boat and start your exploration with us!
We will bring on board books about the birds we will meet and stories behind the landmarks of the Lake Skadar area, and binoculars will help you better observe the birds and their movements.
The tour will last approximately two hours. After that, we will take you back to Virpazar.
We will meet in Virpazar, the heart of National Park Lake Skadar.
Lesendro Fortress is first on the list, a favourite place for birds ''to hang out''
We will head to Morača River, an Important bird and biodiversity area.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
Join us at the Kingfisher information desk near the central bridge in Virpazar. Search for "Kingfisher Boat & Kayak - Lake Skadar, P16, Virpazar, Montenegro" on Google Maps (not just "P16, Virpazar, Montenegro" - it will show the incorrect address). Exchange this voucher for your boat ticket at the location and pay the National Park fee (cash only). Check-in is 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If you are running late for check-in, please notify us immediately via WhatsApp message. Send us your name, scheduled departure time, and estimated arrival time. Please note that the info desk is the designated meeting point, and you should arrive there only after parking and being ready to start the tour. If you have trouble finding a parking space, please search "Parking Virpazar" on Google Maps. Also note that parking is free and public throughout the village (except for the one near De'Andros Hotel). Avoid unauthorised operators at the entrance and on the street who may offer services or say the parking is private; decline their offers and park your car freely.
