What's included in Food and Wine Pairing Experience at Avli Malia

Food and wine tasting will include: Tasting of five (5) courses including one (1) dessert – all of these dishes will be harmoniously paired with a 75ml glass of wine (or glass 40ml dessert wine/125 ml sparkling wine). This culinary journey will take place under the guidance of an experienced wine expert/sommelier who will offer all relevant information about the dishes and the chosen wines.

STARTER - Welcome (Amuse bouche)

Feta cheese wrapped in “kataifi” (shredded phyllo dough) baked in our wood oven. Drizzled with a rose geranium and watermelon sauce and poppy seeds.

STARTER - Salad

Seasonal par-boiled greens sauteed with olive oil, spring onions and cherry tomatoes, fresh lemon juice and served with Cretan ‘Galomizithra’ cheese.

STARTER - Stuffed mushroom

Fresh mushroom stuffed with apaki and Cretan Gruyère cheese, in a crispy crust, served on homemade olive oil and truffle mayonnaise.

MAIN - Stuffed pasta shells

loaded with salmon, prawn, calamari and cream cheese, in a prawn and finely-ground shells' bisque sauce.

DESSERT - ''Portokalopita'' (Greek orange pie)

A fluffy and aromatic orange pie with yoghurt namelaka, refreshing mandarin gel and vanilla ice cream.
