Piazza del Duomo

Piazza del Duomo is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence. It is one of the most visited places in the world and in Florence is the most visited area of the city. From the point of the meeting, the guide will give an insight into the history of this marvelous piece of art standing right in front of you.

Museo Dell'opera Del Duomo

Initially, the guide will talk your way to the Museo dell' Opera del Duomo, which commits to the conservation of the dome and other artworks of great masterpieces of Michelangelo, Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Luca Della Robbia, Arnolfo di Cambio, and many others.

Afterward, as you walk through the Piazza, you'll catch glimpses of the red dome that was completed in 1436 by Filippo Brunelleschi and was once known as the largest building in Medieval Europe. After an interesting explanation of this showstopper, your next stop will be the showpieces of the Florentine Gothic architecture, Giotto's Bell Tower standing adjacent to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore.

  • With your timed-reserved tickets, you can climb the Cupola Dome 45 minutes after the guided tour ends.
  • After the first validation, the ticket is valid for 72 hours: you can use it to visit locations listed on your own time (Giotto's Bell Tower and Santa Reparata).
  • The recommended duration for the visit to the Brunelleschi's Dome is approximately 45 - 60 minutes.
  • The recommended duration for the visit to Giotto’s Bell Tower is approximately 45 minutes.
  • The recommended duration for the visit to the Santa Reparata is approximately 30 minutes.
  • Appropriate clothing for a place of worship is required: access with bare legs and shoulders, and wearing sandals, hats, or sunglasses is not permitted. You may be refused entry to the Baptistery and Cathedral if you fail to comply with the cathedral's dress requirements.
  • Suitcases, backpacks, parcels, containers, and large and medium-sized bags are not permitted inside the Dome(Cupola).
  • Umbrellas, canes (when not used to assist walking), tripods for cameras, and film cameras are not permitted inside the Dome.
  • Knives, scissors, and metal tools that could be dangerous for people and the exhibited works are not permitted inside the Dome.
  • Air conditioned space with Wi-Fi availability.

  • Please note that the tour requires a minimum number of two guests to run.
  • Please note that if you arrive after the tour start time you will not be able to join and will not be refunded or have your tour rescheduled.

For the first tour to Duomo Complex- Please be present in front of the Lindt Chocolate Shop Firenze of Piazza del Duomo, 15R, 15 minutes before the departure time in order to avoid any delays. For the second tour please be present at Via del Gomitolo dell'Oro 11, 50123 Firenze, IT (Vino Tasting Global S.r.l). Please note that the guided tour does not include Brunelleschi's Dome(Cupola), you can climb the Cupola on your own with the timed-reserved tickets, 45 minutes after the guided tour ends.
