Built in by the Portuguese in 1482, the Elmina Castle initially served a trading post before playing a key role in the infamous transatlantic slave trade.
The Benya Lagoon serves as the soul of Elmina, here we will learn about the spiritual connection between the people and the lagoon.
Seated in the heart of Elmina is the Methodist Church built in 1900. On our way we will also learn about buildings that have survived from the colonial era. We will also visit the Nana Kobina Gyan Square, named after the king of Elmina who stood against the British.
You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
The tour begins in Elmina but we can arrange for pick up outside Elmina. With this arrangement the client will have to directly pay for the ride/fuel from the point of pick up.
