Abdeen Palace Museum
Abdeen Palace signifies the beginning of modern Cairo, a city brought to life by Khedive Ismail's vision to transform it into a European-inspired capital. His orders led to the creation of expansive squares, wide streets, elegant palaces, bridges spanning the Nile, and lush gardens filled with trees and rare palms. The palace was commissioned by Khedive Ismail after his ascension to the throne in 1863, with construction taking a decade to complete. It is named after Sultan Abidin Bey, a military leader under Mohamed Ali, who once owned a mansion on the site. Khedive Ismail purchased the property from the widow of the military leader and later constructed the Saray on the land, expanding it to include the surrounding grounds.
Pyramids of Giza
The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. It is home to the Great Pyramid of Giza, along with the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, their surrounding complexes, and the iconic Great Sphinx. These monumental structures were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom.
