An alternative indoor tour in our purpose-built technological experience. This will be an hour in duration, at the value of $89.00 per adult, $45.00 per child. If you choose to join this tour, you will then be refunded the balance of your original ticket price.
Transfer to a later departure the same night, another date of your choice (subject to availability).
Get a gift voucher for the value of your Experience (valid for 12 months). This voucher is transferrable to another person.
In the event none of the above options are suitable, full refunds are available.
At 1,029m high, Mt John offers unrivalled 360-degree views across the world’s largest Gold Standard International Dark Sky Reserve.
With exclusive access to the summit of Mt John – home to the University of Canterbury’s research centre – you’ll enjoy mountaintop stargazing like no other. Our expert astronomy guides bring the night sky to life, sharing both the science and the stories of our Southern skies.
Begin by stargazing with the naked eye, guided by lasers, then explore deeper through powerful optical telescopes, including access to our private observatory dome. Witness the incredible Milky Way, distant planets, star clusters, solar systems, and even far-off galaxies. Every night sky reveals something new.
Driving and taking a taxi to the destination are highly recommended
