Learn about some of our Florida bird species from guides with a background in field biological research, a certified master naturalist, and experience in guiding birding tours and leading field trips for birding festivals for over a decade. We can provide tours for "listers" who would like to see as many species as possible, photographers who would like to take their time and get the best shot and the best angle possible, and all types of birders in between. We'll be hiking and birding a section of Three Lakes WMA in the morning. Then we'll continue to Joe Overstreet Landing for amazing photographic opportunities of birds and especially raptors and Bald Eagles. Species highlights may include Florida Scrub-jay, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Bachman’s Sparrow, Crested Caracara, Limpkin, Snail Kite, Swallow-tailed Kite, Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Purple Gallinule, and Painted Bunting.

You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points

Additional Information

You'll be picked up in an orange Honda Element with our company logo on the side. We'll drive up to hotel lobbies to wait for you in the morning.

Meeting / End Points

  • We'll meet you at the intersection of of Canoe Creek road and Prairie Lakes Road at Three Lakes WMA. On the right side just past the entrance, you'll see a kiosk for the Florida trail and a small unpaved parking area. Park in there to begin the tour.
