Experience crafting in the workshop "Noyori," run by a family of craftsmen for over 50 years in the Osu district of Naka Ward, Nagoya City, where temples and Buddhist supply stores line the streets. After receiving a technical explanation from a kazarikanagu (decorative fittings) artisan specializing in Owari Buddhist fittings, you'll create a bangle that blends tradition with modern design using the same tools employed by the craftsmen. This traditional technique-infused accessory will add a unique accent to your style. The standard width of the bangle is 1.5 cm, but if you prefer a bolder design, you can choose the 3 cm wide option.
In the Osu district of Nagoya City, known for its many temples and rows of Buddhist supply stores, there is a family workshop called "Noyori" that has been handcrafting Owari Butsugu (traditional Buddhist fittings from Owari) for over 50 years. In this workshop, a brass bangle crafting experience is offered for up to four people per session. Participants will learn about the history of Owari fittings from a master craftsman while creating a piece that embodies over 300 years of craftsmanship. The bangle will be completed on the same day, allowing you to wear and take it home immediately.
