“Experience Traditional Balinese Life”
The Pakerisan River Valley to the north east of Ubud was listed as a Cultural Heritage Area by UNESCO in 2012. This mystical river valley contains ancient ancestral sites dating back to 8th - 12th centuries. Ancient animist beliefs and influences of Hinduism and Buddhism spread from India to Bali via Javanese kingdoms. On this journey with Bali Pure Trek, learn about how these ancient belief systems unified. Also learn about plantations, irrigation system known in Bali as subak and balinese village layout with Tri Hita Karana- a philosophy which maintains balance among the natural, physical and spiritual worlds.
Pickup included
Drive to Penempahan Village. The journey start’s at the compound of Penempahan village leader to enjoy welcome drink and sharing about Bali history, village, Balinese compound and culture activities from old village leader inscription and see Balinese script “Lontar” and Mask “Topeng”. Continue on a soft trek through the village Temple and into a bamboo forest and rice fields. (approx. 1.5 hours) Learn about village life and the Balinese relationship to nature visit bone carving artist (animal bone – usually the head of buffalo). Enjoy a lovely lunch with your hosts. Back to hotel
