Itinerary

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone is located in the Rocky Mountains and covers an area of 890,000 hectares (2.2 million acres). The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including bison, elk, bear, and wolves. Yellowstone is a popular tourist destination and is visited by more than 4 million people each year. The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the summer months, when the weather is warm and sunny.

Mammoth Hot Springs

Mammoth Hot Springs is a group of hot springs located in Yellowstone National Park in the US state of Wyoming. The springs are located in the Upper Geyser Basin, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Old Faithful. Mammoth Hot Springs is one of the most popular attractions in Yellowstone National Park. The springs are known for their colorful terraces, which are formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate. The terraces constantly change shape and color as the hot water from the springs dissolves the calcium carbonate and washes it away.

Norris Geyser Basin

Norris Geyser Basin is home to more than 200 geysers and hot springs, including Steamboat Geyser, the world's tallest active geyser. Steamboat Geyser can erupt up to 380 feet (116 m) high and can last up to 10 minutes. Norris Geyser Basin water is highly acidic, with a pH of 2.5 to 3.5. This acidity is caused by the presence of dissolved sulfuric acid. Acidity can cause rocks in the basin to dissolve, creating a variety of colorful formations, including travertine terraces, mud, and fumaroles.
