The South Gate of Angkor Thom is a stunning entrance showcasing the Khmer Empire's architectural brilliance. Standing about 23 meters tall, it features a grand stone archway flanked by statues of gods and demons, symbolizing the struggle between good and evil. As you approach, the intricate carvings reveal the rich mythology of the era, while the serene moat enhances its picturesque beauty. The iconic stone faces represent the spiritual significance of the site. Entering the South Gate transports you back in time, providing a glimpse into Angkor Thom’s grandeur. Bayon Temple, located within the ancient city of Angkor Thom, was built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. It is renowned for its iconic stone faces, believed to represent Avalokiteshvara or King Jayavarman VII himself.
