Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine

Having a long history, this shrine still remains to be the center of religion to the people of Osaka. It is known for housing the god of maritime safety, and is also frequented by many people praying for prosperity in business. There are many must-see spots such as the bridge Sorihashi and its distinctive main sanctuary.

Explore the nostalgic atmosphere of the town on a tramcar. From the retro tram, get a glimpse of the cityscape and the daily life of the locals.

The Shinsekai area, brimming with the atmosphere of downtown Osaka, is lined with lively shopping streets, izakaya, game centers, and more.

  • Public transportation will be used to move around on this tour. Please note that seating is not guaranteed.
  • If the Aqua Liner is out of service due to bad weather, temporary operation suspension, or other operational concerns, the tour will visit the Osaka Museum of History instead. If the Aqua Liner is unavailable on a Tuesday, when the Osaka Museum of History is closed, refunds will be issued by the guide on the tour day (JPY 2,000/Adult, JPY 1,000/Child).
  • Until March 24, 2025 and From April 11, 2025, as the Aqua Liner boarding schedule will be changed, the duration will be changed from 40 to 55 minutes.
  • From the Namba area, the tour may use Temmabashi Station on the way to Osaka Castle instead of Osakajokoen Station.
  • If there are no customers on the Osaka Downtown Walking Tour (in the morning) or the Osaka Afternoon Walking Tour (in the afternoon), this tour may head directly to Osakajokoen Station without making a stop at Namba Station after lunch.
  • Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with lunch. Please make a booking for children requiring lunch under the child rate.
  • [Regarding Meals] For lunch, in addition to the takoyaki-making experience (60 min all-you-can-eat), salted cabbage, deep-fried chikuwa with seaweed, potato salad, 3 deep-fried skewers, white rice (refills available), and miso soup are included.
  • [Regarding Meals] Takoyaki contains octopus, eggs, and animal-derived stock. Those who would like may opt for a vegetarian meal instead; however, please note that those who request a vegetarian meal will not be able to enjoy takoyaki. Furthermore, customers having a vegetarian meal will be provided a special menu (mini salad, 3 kinds of appetizers, grilled vegetables in foil, grilled vegetable skewers, deep-fried tofu teppanyaki, grated kelp soup, and white rice).
  • [Regarding Meals] As 1 takoyaki maker will be provided for every 4 customers, customers may be asked to share a table with another group.
  • As this is a walking tour, please wear shoes and clothing that are suitable for walking. A distance of about 7 km [about 4 miles] will be covered on this tour.
  • Parental permission in writing is necessary for all tour participants under the age of eighteen. Any participant under the age of fifteen or not yet enrolled in middle school must be joined by a parent or guardian on the tour.
