Your tour guide will lead you to the Old City Jail, also known as the Jefferson County Jail, built in 1905 was an architectural triumph landing it on the National Register of Historic Places, but it’s the dark and violent history of the the old jail that has led to several sightings of prisoner’s specters over the years.
Once the site of Dr William McDowell, the home known to locals as the Old House, this is the oldest residence in Downtown Louisville. The Doctor tried a variety of failed experiments to treat tuberculosis with his patients during the mid 1800s. Their emaciated ghosts still haunt this home today.
The 4 diamond Seelbach Hotel has an amazing guest list including F. Scott Fitzgerald, several U.S. Presidents, Muhammad Ali and was a favorite hangout for gangster Al Capone.
