Our Lady of Victories (The Portland Soldiers and Sailors Monument)
Pass-by Only

Our tour will begin here by the tall Monument Square clock across from Longfellow Books. Travelers will see the lovely Monument Square which features Our Lady of Victories Monument. This is the most prominent piece of public art in Portland. It was constructed in honor of the soldiers and sailors who lost their lives in the Civil War. At this location travelers also get an up close look at the towering Time and Temperature building. This is one of the more haunted landmarks in Portland where spirits are said to roam the halls and ride the elevators.

Maine Historical Society

Our guide will take you to the grounds of 1800's poet Henry Longfellow Wadsworth childhood home. During the time to Longfellow and Wadsworth families occupied this home it has seen at least six deaths. Tour guides and visitors a like have seen the ghost of Henry Longfellow Wadsworth here too.
