Currently on view, Terraphilia is a special temporary exhibition organized in collaboration with TBA21–Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary that explores our deep emotional and ethical connection with the Earth and its diverse life forms. Featuring around 100 works from the Thyssen-Bornemisza, Carmen Thyssen, and TBA21 collections—by artists such as Joachim Patinir, Wassily Kandinsky, Natalia Goncharova, and Dineo Seshee Bopape—the exhibition spans five centuries of artistic expression. Through seven interwoven themes, including mythology, cosmology, ecology, and spirituality, Terraphilia invites visitors to reconsider humanity’s place in the natural world. It offers a visionary experience rooted in interspecies kinship and planetary care, positioning art as a guide for transformative thinking in the face of today’s environmental and social challenges.
